INTRODUCTION
The most vulnerable part of a
porcelain or quarry tile job is the grout. Dirt and debris under foot traffic
will scratch the tile surface and discolor grout joints. Polished porcelain tile
will show traffic patterns faster than unpolished tile. PREVENTIVE With all this in mind, the basic
items to remember when caring for a tile floor and/or walls is: 1.
Keep the floor and/or walls clean. That will definitely reduce the
wear and tear on it. 2.
Wipe off spills immediately, so the damage to the grout is
minimized. DO’s ·
Clean frequently with a CLEAN MOP/ CLEAN SOFT RAG and CLEAN WATER
and detergent if necessary, especially in high traffic areas.
·
Use mats at entryways to reduce the amount of dirt tracked in. ·
Clean spills immediately. ·
Seek the help of a professional to restore your grout to its
original look or to clean your floor and/or walls using harsh chemicals. DON’Ts ·
Do not use a DIRTY MOP/ DIRTY SOFT RAG. It will stain your grout. ·
Do not roll heavy loads directly on your floor. The corners of the
tile may break off. Use plywood or any other material to distribute the weight. |
